Best AI Voice Generators 2026: I Tested Them Side by Side

I gave ElevenLabs, WellSaid, Murf and Fish Audio the same four sentences. Three were easy. The fourth was the trap: Dr. Smith's 3:45 PM appointment on 12/05 costs $1,250 — that's 20% off.

ElevenLabs is the one I would use
It was the only tool that read the hard sentence like a person would, and the Starter plan costs $6 a month with a commercial license included.
ElevenLabs
All four sentences were read correctly. On the hard one it said "December fifth", which is exactly what a human narrator would say. The paid Starter plan is $6 a month for 30,000 credits, about 30 minutes of audio, and includes a commercial license. The free plan does not include a commercial license, so do not use it for monetized videos.
WellSaid
Sentences one to three were clean. On the hard sentence it said "twelve, fifth" instead of "December fifth". The price and the percentage were right. The Starter plan is $19 a month with 20 download minutes; the free trial gives 3 download minutes and no commercial rights.
Murf
The first three were fine, and the date came out as "twelve, dash, zero point five". Price and percentage were right. On the free plan Murf blocks downloads, so you need the Creator plan ($19 a month billed yearly) to get the file and commercial rights.
Fish Audio
The first three were fine. On the hard sentence it read the date as "twelve-oh-five" and the price as "twelve dollars and fifty cents" instead of twelve hundred and fifty. In a product video, a wrong price is the worst mistake you can make. The free plan gives about 7 minutes a month; Plus gives about 200 minutes with a 5-day free trial.
How I tested
Same four sentences in every tool, default settings, one take each: plain narration, an excited announcement, an emotional line and the number-heavy trap. Prices were checked on each tool's official pricing page in October 2026 and can change.
